The ice storm in Oklahoma just before Christmas Day provided some great photo ops for me and I literally crawled around on the ice capturing these images. There is a neat story about this image's black background... As I took image after image with just the natural setting of grass and ice, I began to think about what a different color background would do for the crystals. Looking through my car contents, all I could find were the knee pads I use at work but had brought with me to wear as I crawled around this icy little world... As luck would have it, the pads were black so I stuck one behind the ice crystals and was able to get this and a couple more images.... Worked out nicely I think... :)
